Tirelessly dedicated.

H. Michael Bennett

H. Michael Bennett is a 2004 graduate of the University Of Wyoming College Of Law.  Michael began his legal career with Wyoming Legal Services before becoming the DCI Staff Attorney and then an Albany County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney.  In 2008, Michael started his criminal defense practice in Cheyenne, Wyoming.  He was appointed the Fremont County and Prosecuting Attorney in March 2013.  In 2015, Mike opened Bennett Law, LLC in Rawlins, Wyoming. In 2017, Mike opened Bennett Law Group, P.C. which he runs with his partner, Richard Weisheimer.

Michael’s wife, Patricia, is a 2009 UW College of Law graduate.  Patricia is the Clerk of the Wyoming Supreme Court.  Michael and Patricia have four children, ages 30 to 12.

Bennett Law Group, P.C. was founded on the principles of our inalienable right to trial before our peers. We believe a jury is capable of the amazing feat that is finding not only the truth of a case, but also the justice the case demands. To that end, Michael and Richard tirelessly dedicate their time to preparing their cases for jury trial.

Now at the Tivoli, we have the advantage of a completely furnished mock courtroom. This courtroom allows us the opportunity to invite members of the public to hear our cases before we ever try them in front of a real jury. We believe this practice to be invaluable to finding, defining and presenting the truth of your case.

Rick Weisheimer

Born in Cleveland, Ohio Rick graduated from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio where he was a scholarship athlete running for the cross-country team. Shortly after graduation he moved to Flagstaff, Arizona to pursue a career in track and field. After a few years, Rick decided that he would like to pursue a career in the legal field. Rick accepted an offer to attend law school at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York.

Shortly after graduating from law school Rick made his way to Wyoming. While waiting for his law license to transfer to Wyoming, Rick worked with the Public Defender’s office in Gillette, WY. Rick then accepted a position with Legal Aid of Wyoming in Casper, Wyoming. While at Legal Aid, Rick assisted low income individuals fight their case in court. Rick then accepted a position at Bennett Law Group in Rawlins, Wyoming where he has been for almost two years.

While in Rawlins, Rick also held a contract with the Public Defender’s Office where he assisted low-income clients through the criminal court process. Rick also learned that working is a small, close-knit community allowed Bennett Law Group to become a community-based law firm. Many of the former clients of Bennett Law Group still drop by the office just to say hello and Rick is very proud of that.

Opening the Bennett Law Group’s second office has allowed for the firm to grow its client base and use a full-scale mock courtroom in their office in Cheyenne. This has allowed Bennett Law Group to test out cases in front of members of the community in a courtroom setting before we get to court. From minor misdemeanors to the most serious felonies, Bennett Law Group has the tools and technology to achieve the best result for our clients.

The question that Rick most often gets is “how did you get to Wyoming.” While it is true that Rick grew up in a large city in Ohio, Wyoming has always been in his soul. Rick attended the University Wyoming as a student for a year during his undergraduate education and fell in love with the beautiful landscape and outdoors based way of life of the folks here. Rick practices all over the State of Wyoming as a part of Bennett Law Group and the travel never gets old because to him this state holds so much to marvel at.

Whether at their office in Cheyenne or in Rawlins, or driving a lonely highway somewhere heading to court, Rick is constantly working to achieve the best results for Bennett law Group’s clients.
